As president of Long & Associates for the past 34 years, HM has lead the company from a small structural engineering firm to a full-service architectural and engineering firm providing creative and diverse design and construction administration services. HM has direct experience in contract administration, investigations and design/engineering of industrial and manufacturing facilities, public and private office buildings, hotels and condominiums, parking garages, educational facilities from child care centers to universities, research facilities, laboratories, medical facilities and security systems. This has created a "hands on" relationship to the design team and absolute attention to client communication required to maintain the firm's rapid and effective response to highly specific project requirements. HM has been a registered Professional Engineer since 1970 and is also a State Certified Special Inspector. He has been a Class A General Contractor for over 14 years and oversees our Construction Management projects. He is a member of National Society of Engineers as well as Florida Engineering Society. He belongs to the American Institute of Steel Construction and the Southern Building Code Congress International. HM received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida in 1966 and a Master of Science in Engineering with a Structures option in 1975 from the University of South Florida. HM and Altha have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. They reside in northwest Hillsborough County. He is a member of National Society of Engineers as well as the Florida Engineering Society.
