Paul is a structural engineer with 19 years of experience at Long & Associates. His background includes all facets of the structural design process including design engineering and structural steel detailing. He is Principal-in-Charge of the structural engineering group. Paul majored in civil engineering with a structural option. He has worked on projects including multi-story building design, heavy oncrete frame design,large truss design, industrial structures and drainage design. His design experience covers a wide variety of projects encompassing military, educational, commercial, and industrial clients. He has experience in calculating complex moment, bolted and welded connections. He is also responsible for managing the structural steel detailing projects ranging in size from 50 to 3200 tons. His clients have included fabricators and contractors located throughout the Eastern United States., and local school districts. Paul is a Registered Professional Structural Engineer in Florida. He is a member of the (SAME) Society of Military Engineers, American Society of American Civil Engineers (ASCE), and is an Associate of the Florida Education Facilities Planners Association. Paul received his BSCE (1989) from the University of South Florida. He began his professional career as a structural engineer at Long & Associates in 1989. He became a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida in 1997. He is also a State Certified Special Inspector. Paul and Kathy have 2 children and reside in Pasco County.
