Just in time for the new school year, Long & Associates Architects | Engineers, Inc. completed a new 33,000 square foot classroom building addition for Spoto High School with Ajax Building Company. This new building addition provides 500 student stations with state-of-the-art design and technology, as well as an unparalleled Culinary Arts Laboratory. Situated toward the front of the school, the two-story building blends directly into the campus infrastructure while utilizing sunshades that morph from horizontal to vertical on the different cardinal building faces to properly shade glazing from unwanted heat gain. The building includes 20 classrooms and support spaces outfitted with the latest safety features for students and staff and the Chiller Plant was also upgraded to support the new addition. Emblazoned on the outside of the building is the Spartan logo backlit with color-changing LED lights. Long & Associates is proud to design for Hillsborough County Public Schools and hopes to inspire its students to be future architects and engineers! Go Spartans!
