Under a University of Central Florida Continuing Service Contract, Long & Associates provided professional architecture and engineering design services for a new 4,000 SF pre-engineered metal building to provide staff training and office space for the UCF Facilities Department. The scope of work included a break room, conference room, tool storage, and restroom facilities. The training area provides a controlled environment where Facilities technicians learn and practice performing maintenance and repair operations on the various electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems and elements that they may encounter throughout the campus.

The building layout allows the various electrical and mechanical systems within to be accessible for training purposes. The new one-story steel building provides versatile and durable work space to meet the needs of the Facilities Department on a large and expanding campus. The building is located adjacent to the existing Print Shop building to take advantage of additional work and storage spaces within. Minor upgrades to the Print Shop building, including a new ADA accessible toilet room, were completed under another task order.
