Long & Associates assisted Madico Window Films in master planning their manufacturing facility, including remodeling a 225,000 GSF space for production lines, quality control center, and research and development center.
Madico Window Films produces the tinted window film found on most vehicles and window tint applications for buildings, ballistics, impact resistance and shading. Long & Associates was selected to evaluate their existing St. Petersburg facility operations and assist Madico in master planning the facility. After evaluation of the 90,000 GSF existing facility, and due to growth and consolidation, Madico purchased the former “Transitions Optical” facility in Pinellas Park Florida, and began planning operations to completely remodel the 225,000 GSF facility into a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
Phase 1 involves the complete gutting and reconfiguration of approximately 70,000 GSF of the existing facility for 3 production lines. Work included the removal and creation of significant equipment mezzanine space, new 8” concrete floor system with equipment pits, elevated equipment platforms, new steel pipe framing system for hot and cold process air distribution, Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) equipment support, Tank Farm for 48,000 gallons of various chemicals, building and plant HVAC, LED Lighting, Power distribution, and more. In addition, Phase one has a state-of-the-art Quality Control center for review of the product results, and a 2700 sf Research & Development Center for research engineers to continue advancement in this innovative technology.
